The Knox Mountain Hill Climb is an annual event at Knox Mountain Park in the City of Kelowna, BC, Canada. The 2.2 mile (3.5 km) paved road to the summit is narrow with off-camber corners, steep grades, and climbs approximately 800 feet (245 metres) in elevation.
With an average grade of 6.7%, the course demands precision, power, and courage. The current hill record of 1m:34.903 is held by Aaron Cook of Edmonton, Alberta — a benchmark that competitors strive to beat each year.

The Knox Mountain Hill Climb has been a cornerstone of Kelowna's identity for over six decades. What began in 1960 as a daring test of man and machine on a rugged mountain road has grown into one of Canada's most beloved motorsport events — drawing competitors and spectators from across the country and beyond.
Through the years, the event has witnessed legendary battles, record-breaking runs, and the rise of Canadian motorsport icons. It has outlasted trends, adapted to new eras of technology, and remained true to its roots: raw speed, open mountain air, and the spirit of competition.

A Lotus Super 7 navigates the iconic Turn 3 hairpin in the early years of the event. Kelowna and Okanagan Lake stretch out below — the same breathtaking backdrop that draws competitors to this day.

Aaron Cook set the all-time Knox Mountain Hill Climb course record aboard his #26 open-wheel prototype — a blistering run that has stood as the benchmark every competitor aims to beat. The record represents the absolute limit of what is possible on this 2.2-mile mountain road.
